Sly Spy and the Super Secret Mission A L.G. Bennet Novella

Command to Agent Spy…someone needs your help. It seems a sentence needs someone to…um…take care…of it’s direct and indirect objects.

Hi, Agent Spy at your service. I’ve been all over the world on top secret missions, and today you’re coming with me to help. Our mission is of utmost secrecy and importance. I’ve been given strict instructions. Your Mission: -Locate the direct and indirect objects of the sentence. -Destroy them. -Replace them with the correct pronoun. -Move them to the correct place.

Hint: The place where what you seek lies is in the following sentence- He presents the bowl to the fish. Il presentè un bole au pisson. Are you ready? Additional information: me = je = me = me you = tu = te = te Him/her/it = il/elle/on = le/la = lui Us = nous = nous = nous You all = vous = vous = vous Them = ils/elles = les = leur English=Subject Pronouns=Direct Object Pronouns=Indirect Object Pronouns

Let’s get going! First we have to locate the direct and indirect objects. Here’s the hint again. He presents the bowl to the fish. Il presentè un bole au poisson.

We have a location on the targets. He presents the bowl to the fish. Il presentè un bole au poisson.

We’ve captured the targets. Now we must destroy them.

Well that’s that. Let’s radio into command. They’ll send in the replacements. Command to Agent Spy. The replacements are on their way.

Here’s what was in the box. Now we’ve got to replace the destroyed objects. He presents the bowl to the fish. Il presentè un bole au poisson.

We’ve almost reached our mission objective. All that’s left is to move the replacements into the correct place. He presents it to it. Il presentè le au lui.

Because we are replacing the direct and indirect objects, we have to put their replacements in a specific order. The pronouns must go before the verb, and must be in the correct order. Use the decoder key to help. Decoder Key: me tu nous vous le la les lui leur

He presents it to it. Il presentè le au lui. He it it presents. Il le lui presentè. Good! Our mission is complete. Thanks for your help! I’ve got to get back to Command. Until next time…

Command to Agent Spy…someone needs your help. The package that proceeds this message contains everything you need to complete your mission.
