Audubon California’s vision is that bird populations will thrive in the future, together with all Californians. 2

We build and strengthen the Audubon California chapter network of 48 chapters partner with Audubon CA each year on conservation programs.

PUTTING WORKING LANDS TO WORK FOR BIRDS & PEOPLE SHARING OUR SEAS & SHORES SAVING IMPORTANT BIRD AREAS SHAPING A HEALTHY CLIMATE & CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE CREATING BIRD FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES 5

6 25 chapters regularly observe the terrestrial IBAs in their region for threats, including those newly identified as especially important under climate change. As resources allow, high-priority IBAs are formally monitored by chapters. 10 chapters participate in Working Lands conservation activities, including monitoring and restoration projects. 25 chapters in California partner with Audubon CA on climate- related campaigns; formally partner with Audubon CA on conservation, outreach, and education activities. 10 chapters have sustainable Coastal Stewardship Programs; 15 chapters conduct restoration, outreach, and other conservation activities at 20 black oystercatcher, snowy plover, and least tern breeding or wintering sites. 6 chapters improve local planning and policy-making that affects shorebird habitat with guidance and technical assistance from Audubon CA.

11 Chapter Network Managers or CNMs, work closely with Audubon chapters and Audubon CA staff to increase conservation, engagement, policy action, community organizing, chapter capacity building and diversification outcomes in alignment with statewide and national goals to protect birds and the habitat they need to survive.

Support and manage conservation partnerships between chapters and Audubon CA. Provide technical expertise in grant conservation projects, grant administration, fundraising and organizational skills. Work with Development staff and chapters to identify grant and donor opportunities to support partnership projects. Organize and facilitate regular regional Chapter Council Meetings. Support chapter engagement in state, federal and local advocacy campaigns assisting with strategy development and execution, outreach, GIS mapping, and education. Facilitate chapter volunteer, outreach, coalition and diversity building efforts that support conservation partnerships with chapters. Maintain regular communications to/between chapters and share successful conservation news, strategies, and outcomes (e.g. s, CA website, Audubon Works, Instagram). Write chapter-related articles and reports for Audubon CA internal and external media. 13
