Circuit Development for Siquijor as a Tourism Destination Capitalizing on its Natural Cultural Assets, and Strengthening its Link with Dumaguete as its Gateway

Goals: To improve Siquijor as a unique sun-and-beach resort destination while highlighting its mystic-healing niche, thereby increasing investments in order to create more jobs for the local people and increase revenues. * Rise in visitor arrivals from an average growth rate of 10% to 50% yearly * Increase in the number of tourism facilities and enterprises * More jobs generated for the local people in tourism enterprises, production, & services of the island

Project Description  The tourism circuit development LED initiative positions Siquijor as a unique yet complimentary eco-cultural destination to Negros Oriental, and particularly to air gateway of Dumaguete City. The key Objectives of the proposed project are to:  Develop the natural heritage of Siquijor into a competitive tourism circuit with new and improved visitor activities that attract more tourists and encourage them to stay longer  Build capacities of tourism stakeholders and local communities to benefit from as well as contribute to the sustainable development and management of tourism in the Province.
