I DO-Notes: Sam Houston’s POV 1 st and 3 rd president of the Republic of Texas. Native American – Native Americans are kind and Texans should make peace with them. Mexican Policy – Mexico has recognized Texas’ Independence. – Texas should not fight with Mexico because it would cost too much money.

I DO-Notes: Sam Houston’s POV Capitol – Houston should be the Capitol because it is a well developed city. Land – Land should be sold to make $ to reduce the debt.

I DO-Notes: Lamar’s POV 2 nd President of the Republic of Texas Native Americans – Native Americans are cruel and Texans should not make peace with them. Mexico – Mexico hasn’t REALLY recognized Texas’ independence. – Texas should still fight Mexico despite how much $ it will cost.

I DO-Notes: Lamar’s POV Capitol – Austin should be the capitol because it is in the center of Texas. Land – Land should be given free to schools and universities.

I DO-Notes: Problems of the Republic of Texas National Debt-Texas had little or no money  Relations with Native Americans-No army or navy to really protect Texas from the Native Americans  Transportation-Roads were in poor condition throughout the state  Education-No free public education  Relations with Mexico-Mexico did not respect Texas as an independent nation which made other countries refuse to trade with Texas. 
