Vision for Research at WSU Our goal – “AAU” Office of Research is performing a “120-day study” on the WSU research enterprise examining: Research Themes Research Infrastructure Faculty/Student Engagement and Productivity Outreach and Economic Development Your input is appreciated!

Proposal Management Unit (PMU) – Large, collaborative proposal support. Research Development – Funding opportunity support for faculty and grad. students. Proposal and Award Processing – Central hub for all submitted proposals and award acceptance (across the system). Outreach and Program Support – Proposal writing workshops, event coordination, trainings, etc. Office of Grant and Research Development

Office of Research Programs Managed by OGRD Proposal Consultants – Grantwriters, LLC – external proposal writing consultants that focus on NIH, NSH, and USDA competitive proposals New Faculty Seed Grants – internal program for new faculty for seed funding with the result an extramural proposal Equipment Grant Matching Policy – Sponsors that require matching for equipment proposal, OR will help support Proposal Management Unit – personnel that support the development of large, collaborative proposals plus single-investigator/small team proposals. This unit also provides support for Prestigious Faculty Awards applications. Current Programs under review Proposal Stimulus Funds – a fund to support recently denied proposals where the funding score looks very good to help be competitive the next go around Research Advancement Challenge – funds provided for teams to develop large, collaborative federal, competitive research proposals. David R. Clark, Office of Research Assurances Office of Research Assurances Mission The goal of ORA is to assist faculty so their research enterprise can be accomplished. ORA facilitates and assists WSU researchers in identifying and complying with all pertinent regulations and guidelines. We work collaboratively with researchers to facilitate and implement WSU policies and procedures which assure compliance with minimal impact on research programs. ORA, established in 2002, is part of the overall effort of WSU to ensure the responsible conduct of research.
