Hong Kong Country Parks and Walking Trails

Aberdeen Country Park It lies on the southern slopes of Hong Kong Island. The area serves as a "back-garden" to nearby residents, and is extremely popular with morning walkers.

It is one of the first two areas on the Island to be established as a country park.

Clear Water Bay Country Park It has two sections, one on the western side of the peninsula, the other on the eastern.

An exception to this is the trip to the scenic Tung Lung Island Special Area, just off the tip of the Clear Water Bay peninsula, where thousands of visitors reach by boat from Sai Wan Ho.

Lion Rock Country Park consists of approximately 557 hectares of land.

It including Lion Rock and Mong Fu Shek and their surrounding scenic hillsides, of which 348 hectares is forestry plantations.

Sai Kung Country Park Most of the land surface of Sai Kung Peninsula, except the village areas, is incorporated into two country parks, Sai Kung East and Sai Kung West (including Wan Tsai Extension), with a total area of 7,600 hectares.

The part of Sai Kung beyond Tai Mong Tsai was still remote before 1970, reachable only on foot or by kaito (local ferry).

However work started in 1971 to create the High Island Reservoir, with a capacity of 273 million cubic metres, by closing off both ends of the Kwun Mun Channel which separated the High Island from the main peninsula. In 1979, the project was completed, providing also two new roads to the area. The city people can now reach a new and relatively unspoilt area for recreation.

Country Code Respect villagers and do not damage their private properties, crops and livestock. Do not vandal natural features. Do not light fire except in barbecue areas and camp sites. Do not pollute water. Do not leave litter. Do not destroy vegetation, wildlife and their living environment Protect countryside and preserve the natural landscapes Respect other visitors and keep the noise down

The End! Thank You!
