The protocol MoU to migrate the protocol used for interconnect between operators in the UK, from IUP to UK ISUP. Based on ETSI ISUP with additional capabilities specified by PNO-IG Interconnect Signalling Committee. Additions support UK facilities such as Indirect Access, and Number Portability. The MoU seeks the implementation of version 2.2 of the PNO-ISC specification for UK ISUP.

The proposed MoU Milestones 1UK ISUP Spec V2.2 agreed by PNO-IG31/03/1999 2When UK-ISUP shall be available for interconnect testing, in preparation for milestone 3.31/12/2000 3When PNOs requesting interconnect may first insist on UK-ISUP provision.31/12/2001 4When PNOs requested to provide interconnect may first be allowed to refuse new IUP provision. 31/12/2003 5When new IUP provision shall cease.31/12/2004 6When IUP shall be withdrawn.31/12/2006

Status Administrative Working Group (AWG), set up by Oftel to manage the agreement and implementation of the MoU. The technically, legal and commercially content of the MoU was agreed by the AWG in 3/4Q1999. Invitation to UK operators and suppliers to sign the document before the end of 1999.
