Stakeholder consultative workshop Developing Governance Indicators for the NDP, Iraq July 2010 Day 1 Recap

#1 Governance chapter of NDP is very broad, hence flexible. IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY!!

#2 UNDAF M&E framework is a good reference to draw from, though UNDAF and NDP need not mirror each other.

#3 Governance is a separate chapter in NDP, but is not a “sector.” Good Governance is a PRE-REQUISITE to achieve NDP’s sectoral goals, as well as the key to peace and stability

#4 Indicators/measurement are not just important for their own sake. Measurements must lead to actual improvements in services/ reform of institutions and systems.
