Project Description Transfer data between two mobile phones via Bluetooth. A unique cell phone movement will establish a connection between two phones and the data link will be used to transfer data.

Network Data transfer Use phone number as an identifier and check against contacts Verify contact based on unique key Store unique key in contact field and update friend motion key if not found Point to point communication Bluetooth/WiFi Point to multipoint communication (optional)

Motion Characterization Primitive motion characterization Create unique motion key and persist it in application memory Limited motion signature accuracy to less than 100% Transfer unique key using custom protocol

User Interface Interactive text editor Friends in range Other media including images, video, audio, ect… (optional)

Testing Testing through simulation Sensor simulator w/ emulated accelerometer input Bluetooth dongles data transfer Bluetooth, Sensor Simulator and Wiimote

Project Outline Milestone 1: Setup Enable the Bluetooth sensor simulator in the Android development network Implement Bluetooth API to successfully transfer and process data on “handset” Milestone 2: User Interface Create a basic framework for text transfer Establish a primitive motion characterization method Milestone 3: Build upon the existing motion characterization to identify complex motion signatures Transfer text between phones via transfer motion Optional Implementation outline: Milestone 4: Enable Wifi sensor simulator and transfer text data via WiFi Milestone 5: Add additional data type to transfer protocol including images and video
