This is where you get to build one of those LED flashing things. You might have seen a few at various conventions and other places that enjoy a bit of hands-on make-and- take activities. Over the years a couple thousand blinkies have been assembled. You start with the kit, use the tools we have in the room. When you are done, you have a working blinkie. We have blinkie Techs to help you debug any problems. The average Blinkie builder takes about 75 minutes, and if it is your 1st time using a soldering iron we suggest you start with a beginners kit. 07/2012 4x4x4 cube Kit-10 $80 4x4 square Kit-10 $35 Atomic Musecon Kit-01 $5-$10 Rocket Kit-19 $10-$15

Pg-01Pg-22 Can’t get enough of the Blinkies? Decided to take a kit home, but need tools? Soldering Tools We have been very pleased with the temp controlled soldering station. Several people asked if we sell them so we picked up a few extra on our last order. An excellent choice for doing a couple of kits at home. Batteries Although each Blinkie kit comes with a set, don’t forget an extra package of four LR44 batteries for your Blinkie. 250 °C to 480 °C Soldering Station $35 4 LR44 Batteries (1 Set) $1 24 LR44 Batteries (6 Sets) $5 2 CR2032 Batteries (1 Set) $1 12 CR2032 Batteries (6 Sets) $5 New 40W Soldering Iron $1 PgSkill KitName 1Index 2BKit-016 Circle 3BKit-07Simple 4 4BKit-16Simple 4 DogTag 5BKit-146 LED DogTag 6BKit-152 RGB DogTag 7BKit-044 RGB 8BKit-18Atomic Musecon 9BKit-01b6 Circle G2 10IKit-063x3 Matrix 11IKit-0912 Circle 12IKit-11Alligator 13IKit-0819 Stick 14IKit-0514 RGB Stick 15IKit-19Rocket 16IKit-0219 Circle 17AKit-124x4 RGB Matrix 18AKit-035x7 Matrix 19AKit-1724 Sphere 20AKit-108x16 Matrix 21AKit-134x4x4 RGB Cube 22Soldering Tools / Batteries

Pg-21Pg-02 Learn to build a blinkie. We guarantee you will leave with a working blinkie – we’ve assisted with over 2000 kits, so we’re confident you will succeed! It’s a 2.0” by 2.5” with a mounting pin on the back side. The LEDs are controlled by a PIC processor. Multiple blinking patterns controlled by a pattern selection button. Kit /w standard Red, Yellow, or Green LEDs $5 Upgrade to bi-color R/G or G/Y +$1 Upgrade to bright Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, or White +$2 Upgrade to bright bi-color R/G or R/B+$3 Firmware: 4 Mono 3 Bi-Color 4x4x4 RGB Cube Kit-13 Under Development Firmware: K13 Dwayne has always wanted to make an LED cube after seeing them on the internet. The soldering of LEDs to a wire lattice just seamed to fragile. After doing the "Gator" design, Dwayne learned the circuit board maker could do sophisticated board cuts. The design of the Cube is 8 circuit boards 3 upper levels, 1 bottom driver board and 4 legs, creating a 3.25 x 3.25 x 3.25 cube. With 64 RGB LED Dwayne added 4 driver chips to help the PIC driver the 192 LEDs. Kit /w bright RGB Square LEDs $80 This blinkie comes with and is powered by a USB wall wart that plugs into 110volt. You will see CR2032 batter clips on the silkscreen because the 4x4 RBG matrix uses the same circuit board. Batteries just don’t last long enough driving 192 LEDs. 6 Circle Kit-01

Pg-03Pg-20 We picked up some bright LEDs with a built in flasher chip and we were so impressed with them, we created a simple, easy-to-solder 1.5” square board around them. Kit /w bright flashing Red LEDs $5 Upgrade to bright bi-color R/G, R/B or G/B +$2 Upgrade to bright RGB 3mm +$5 Upgrade to bright RGB 5mm+$5 Upgrade to bright RGB 10mm +$6 8x16 Matrix Kit-10 After making the 5x7 Matrix, Dwayne always wanted to do something bigger. He had to overcome two problems. The 1st was how to light up so many LEDs (256, as each bi-color LED counts as two)! The 2nd issue, how long would it take to solder in all the LEDs? After searching the globe, Dwayne located the perfect parts - two beautiful 8x8 matrixes. He added 2 driver chips to improve the brightness. We still support the board with the standard four LR44 batteries, but have added support for external power. It's a 2.5" by 1.8" double-sided circuit board that will display various user-selectable patterns and text messages. The design has two buttons to select the pattern. Kit /w bright RG( Yellow) matrix LEDs $15 optional AC Power +$5 Firmware: K10 Simple 4 Kit-07

Pg-19Pg-04 Looking for something really spectacular? Yes, we designed the 12 LED Circle Blinkies so second board can interlock with the first, forming a sphere of 24 LEDs. But it gets better. There are multiple LED placement options for each board. Create a truly unique Blinkie! 24 Sphere Kits-17 Kit /w standard Red, Yellow, or Green LEDs $15 Upgrade to bi-color R/G or G/Y +$3 Upgrade to bright Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink, or White +$6 Upgrade to bright bi-color R/G or R/B+$8 Upgrade to bright 10MM Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink or White +$10 Firmware: K17-M Mono K17-B Bi-Color The Simple 4 Dogtag Down at Blinkie Labs, we found we had extra board material as part of a future project. Rather than waste it, we took it as a challenge. What you see here is the result. A 4 LED dogtag blinkie, which can have either single, two-color, or RGB LEDs. Since it is designed to be worn with a chain or lariat, you can see where we got the name. Pg-09Pg RGB Stick Kit-05 The 19 LED Stick has proved to be very popular and so Dwayne wanted to improve on the design. Thus the 14 RGB Stick was designed. It's a 2.0" by 8.25" double-sided circuit board with a hole for hanging from a lariat that requires assembly and soldering. It has 14 RGB LEDs that will display various user-selectable patterns. There is an IR emitter and receiver for two way communication to other blinkie boards. Kit /w bright RGB Square LEDs $15 Firmware: G Anode H Cathode The 6 LED circle was a the 1st blinkie design we created. Its a classic, we are out of circuit boards. When ordering new boards we made a number of improvements, so many that we are calling it a new product. Learn to build a blinkie. It’s a 2.0” by 2.6” with a mounting pin on the back side. The LEDs are controlled by a PIC processor. Multiple blinking patterns controlled by a pattern selection button. Pg-11Pg-12 We always try to support different levels of assembly skills, this time we think we nailed them all with a single design. Starting with a 3 inch circle, we placed 12 LEDs around the edge, a very easy to solder board. Dale wanted support for 10mm LEDS, so we added support for them too! With so many assembly options, take a look through the options to decide how you want to assemble yours.
