Now let’s look at vegetable growing. Olericulture means the growing of vegetables. Vegetables are important for two reasons: 1.Vegetables are important for our nutrition. 2.Vegetables are important to the economy of our country.

Vegetables boost our nations economy. Each year the vegetables grown in the United States are worth over 14 billion dollars! The state that produces the most vegetables is California. Technology Drip Irrigation is one way technology has improved vegetable production. It helps to produce more uniform plants and wastes much less water by dripping just the right amount of water at the base of each plant.
