TESTING STRATEGIES Ms. Ivy FSA ELA

Before the Test  Get a good night sleep  Wake up 5 minutes early and stretch  Have a good breakfast  Get to school on time

During the Test  Read and follow all directions  Read the passage carefully  If it is printed on the page – READ IT!

During the Test  Use the tools available  Line reader  Highlight key terms  Strike through to eliminate distractors  Preview the questions

During the Test  Analyze the questions  Underline Key Words – Ex. Select all that apply, NOT, etc..  Add text evidence to support your answer  Underline the answers in the passage – Prove It  Don’t submit the test with any blank answers.

During the Test  Make sure to use correct Spelling, Grammar, and Punctuation  Use your time wisely  Review your work and make sure you answered all parts of the question.  If you read a question incorrectly- change your answer.  Careful – don’t change to many answers.

Congratulations!  You are prepared!  Show them you can do it!  You are better then the test!
