 Marine turtles are 8 feet long.  Marine turtles can live up to years.  They can weigh up to 2,000 pounds. Marine turtles have a hard shell called a carpace.  Marine turtles have strong paddle like flippers for swimming.  They have a big beak like mouth.  Marine turtles are reptiles.  They have reptilian skin on the neck.  Their upper shell and bottom shell are connected.  They cannot retract their head

Marine Sea Turtles Diet Sharks can eat sea turtles. Ghost crabs, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and dogs eat the sea turtles eggs. Sea turtles can eat crabs, shrimp and rock lobsters they eat little fish and cuttle fish. The eat plants sea cucumbers. And they eat sea squids. Sea turtles can also eat frogs. Sea turtles can eat jellyfish and sponges. They have errated jaws adopted for a vegetarian diet of sea grasses and algae. Logger heads and Riddles jaws are adopting for crushing and grinding.

Marine Turtle Interesting Facts Sea turtles can live up to 60 to 80 years, turtle hospitals helps sick turtles. Female sea turtles can lay eggs on land. Male turtle do not go on land. They have big strong flippers. Their upper and lower shells connect. Their shells are made of bones and cartilage. A female sea turtles can go 60 yards to lay eggs.

Marine Turtles Endangered Status  Did you know that sea turtles are endangered because dogs, sea birds, raccoons, ghost crabs and other predators kill sea turtles.  People also kill sea turtles to eat and for there beautiful shells and leather.  Because of the marine sea turtles predators 90 % of there eggs and hatchlings get eaten by them.  To help the marine turtles we could provide safe nesting areas for them.  We could also make certain areas for people to catch shrimp so sea turtles wont get tangled in the nets.
