Learning Outcome: To improve the image of Cambridge Primary School

The Plan

Realistic Improvements in order of Priority

List of Improvements and priorities 1. Add skirting and continue railings to the whole surrounding area and paint matching school colours. 2. Remove aluminium glassed areas and add railings to continue the same theme. 3. Add seating and tables in the centre of the courtyard and around the perimeter. Tables need to be of a material that students can work at – (ie: timber slats like in regular picnic tables will not be suitable). I suggest honed concrete slabs? 4. Add tiered seating to the area outside Rm Re-surfacing to make level and of one similar surface material. NO grass in there at all! 6. A playhouse area (in keeping with the school roof shape and “ steeple ” ) Blackboard paint, painted to ply which will sit under railings to the floor. 7. Raised garden with pretty flowers and totem poles (made by kids) 8. Remove raised concrete gardens and trees. The areas will need to be re- concreted. The only remaining trees are to be the native punga type trees outside Rm 7 and Room 9 bag area. 9. Some kind of low height water feature. Needs to be low so that people at each table can see each other and communicate – if a whole class was to be working outside there.

Adding skirting boards and continue wide railings to the whole surrounding area and paint matching school colours. 1

45m linear meters required to close in the whole surrounds Possible material – R/S Palings (25 x 150 x 1500) 25 x 150 (not r/s 4.60 pm) Approx 150 $2.45ea – 2.76$ Nails$ Paint$ Additional railing behind “skirting” (100 x 50) 45 linear meters 6m $14 (8 X 6m lengths)$ Total of materials$ The Skirting Surrounds

Rail (300x50 H3 gauged) $34.19pm X 25m (est) required$ Bolts Unsure of materials needed to fix$ Total $ Additional Wide Railing (due to removal of aluminium enclosures)
