Adverbs Review and Practice

Adverbs Modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. Many adverbs end in “ly” The rain poured steadily. His memories were extremely vivid. She responded very quickly. Some adverbs do not end in “ly” I am very tired.

What is an Adverb? A word that modifies: A word that modifies: a verb The turtle moved slowly. How did the turtle move? A word that modifies: an adjective You are too smart to do anything that dumb. How smart? How dumb? He drove a very fast car. How fast? A word that modifies: another adverb She moved quite slowly down the aisle. How slowly? Jessie sang very loudly at the concert. How loudly?
