© 2004 by Carnegie Mellon University 2 What is IPRC? The SEI initiated the IPRC as a technology scout vehicle. It is a two-year effort (August 2004 – August 2006) With international representation Its purpose is to forecast promising process technologies for the next generation of challenges in the software- intensive enterprise.

© 2004 by Carnegie Mellon University 3 What Challenges Are We Trying to Address? Technological innovation never stops Today’s solutions were once yesterday’s ideas The problem space continues to change and new challenges emerge; we must always be preparing for the future

© 2004 by Carnegie Mellon University 4 The IPRC Approach to this Challenge Bring together the international process community researchers technologists acquirers suppliers users Interact, debate, discuss Develop an R&D roadmap a view of the future landscape of process needs a forecast of technology possibilities an agenda for strategic research directions
