In the 1800’s new sky skyscrapers would need steel beams. How did this affect Andrew Carnegie’s company?

His company had to change its focus from steel rails to steel beams.

After the Civil War, America entered into a phase of growth. Was this growth slow and steady or was it rapid? Why was that?

The growth was rapid. Immigration had come to a near halt during the Civil War. After the war was over, immigration picked up again, and brought with it new inventions. This allowed for westward expansion and rapid growth.
