Biography Sabin Pautza was born on 8 February 1943, at Calnic-Resita He gratuated in 1965 the “Ciprian Porumbescu” Conservatory in Bucharest, Romania He specialized as composer and bandmaster at The Chigian Academy in Siena, Italy Between 1966 and 1984 he activated as harmony profesor at “George Enescu” Conservatory of Iasi, Romania
In 1984, Sabin Pautza was named the artistic director and principal bandmaster of the oldest orchestra from New Jersey, "Plainfield Symphony", which he guided for 20 years In 1984 he moved in United States of America at Plainfield, New Jersey The Plainfield’s mayor named 7 May “The Sabin Pautza Day” Nowadays, he is the honorific director of the Plainfield Philharmonic

His composition "Rita Dove Triptych" had its world premiere with the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra in November, 1994. His "Jubilee Sinfonietta", which was dedicated to the PSO, premiered in 1995. In November 1997, the Plainfield Symphony performed his "Saxophone Concerto" with Paul Cohen, who commissioned the work, as soloist. In May, 2000, Maestro Pautza's cantata "Ode to Hope" was given its world premiere by the Plainfield Symphony and the Crescent Choral Society
In June 2007 he was invited by German Consulate to perform at the Sibiu, Capital Cultural of Europe
