Types of Care Services Early Years Service

What is the Early Years Services? Services that provide health, care and education services for children under eight years. It involves both the statutory and private groups.

Statutory Services The governments role is to: Provide statutory services directly Supervise services through government departments.

Government departments concerned with children DepartmentResponsible for Department of Health (DOH) Dept. for Education and Skills (DfES) Dept. for Work and Pensions Office of the Dep. Prime Min. Health services, including hospitals and local health care All aspects of education and skills including standards in school and day nurseries Providing benefits for children and families Local government, housing, planning and the countryside.
