It is not too late to join our Moyer running group and take part in this annual event. The Kids Flying Pig Marathon is open to all Moyer students aged K-5 th grade. The goal is to run a total of 25 miles (you can record your runs in a “Hog Log”) from now until May. Then Moyer will join schools from all around the tri-state to run the “final mile” together. For those who may want a little extra challenge, there is a choice to “fly-up” to a 5K event instead. Mustang Minutes PTO UPDATES A Note from PTO President, Tonya Tierney Parents, after just seeing the amazing MOYERS GOT TALENT show headed up by Laura Grimme and Lori Valentine I wanted to take time out to recognize the volunteer aspect of our PTO. I would like to thank all of the wonderful volunteers we have had throughout the year. From Santa House and COSI to volunteering in the library, cafeteria or the classroom and much more. Each and every one of these volunteer jobs is extremely important to making Moyer what it is today. There are so many opportunities available in our school to help out. In today's fast paced world taking time out of your busy schedule for others is a very difficult thing to do. I just wanted to take the time to THANK YOU all for the time sacrifices you make for our school. Please continue to watch for more opportunities coming your way. I would like to personally thank our volunteer coordinator Laura Grimme. With the high number of volunteers needed for so many events in our school she has an extremely difficult task, but has done an amazing job. We are always looking for new ways to get our communication across for our volunteer needs and keeping you updated on all upcoming events. If you ever have any suggestions or would like to get more involved in any way feel free to contact me any time. Thank you again for all you do for our school, we truly have a unique school with wonderful parent support. Tonya Tierney PTO President A Note from Mr. Haskamp Dear Parents, I cannot believe that we are already half way through the third quarter! This year is going really fast but it has also been very rewarding. I have been so lucky to witness the great things that happen at Moyer this year. Recently we had a very successful event in PE. Mr. H invited parents to "come play" in his classes. We had a large amount of parents come in to spend a little time with their student. What a great way to get involved with your child's learning. Also, last week, we had our Wax Museum. I was completely impressed by the hard work our students put into preparing for this event. Students were utilizing 21st century skills and created a project they should be proud of and one they will never forget. I am thankful for the amount of preparation our teachers put into this process and the work and dedication of our students. When I came to Moyer I knew the parental support was amazing. I have witnessed firsthand what is so special about Moyer and it is a dedication of teachers, parents, and students. Together everyone is working toward a common goal which is providing the best opportunity possible for your children. I cannot thank you enough for your dedication to Moyer and your willingness to help when asked. I appreciate how open everyone has been with our security changes and the feedback that has been offered. I appreciate the volunteerism you offer, what an example you are showing your children that giving back is so important. Mostly, I appreciate the smiling faces that come in every day, our parents have shown our students how important education is and you make sure they are prepared every day. Once again, thank you for all you do. Sincerely, Mr. Haskamp
