26 th January 2015, GCF, Riyadh DoHoon Kim President Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade On South-South Cooperation

Three types of South countries We may classify three different types of South countries in order to find out their deep aspirations and resources to share with others, if any. 1.Countries with natural resources 2. Countries that have successfully developed industries 3. Countries without natural resources nor industries

Countries with natural resources

Countries that have successfully developed industries

Countries without natural resources nor industries

Suggestions 1.The first and second types of South countries should try to combine their accumulated assets in order to help the third type of South countries to start their initial industrialization, as they need huge amount of financial resources and pertinent knowledge of industrialization at the initial stage. They might become demanders for natural resources and industrial products in the future. 1.The first and second types of South countries can exchange their accumulated assets to attenuate others’ shortcomings and to respond to others’ aspirations

Thank You!
