O UR A IMS To our children - Our aim is to provide quality after school care in a safe, happy and comfortable environment where children can take part in a wide range of activities and spend time with their friends. To our parents and carers - Our aim is to provide an after school service which suits the needs of all users. We encourage your involvement and will act on your feedback to continually develop and improve our service.

A BOUT US Welcome to St Peter’s After School Club! We are a registered charity operating independently from the school, and are located in the general purpose room within the school. The club is regulated by the Care Inspectorate and is regularly inspected to ensure we meet the required national and local standards. There is a children’s section in this handbook for your child to read. This handbook will provide you with important information about how the club operates. The club is managed by a committee of parents and all parents/carers are encouraged to become involved to ensure the club continues to develop.

W HAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ? We provide after school care for up to 30 children attending St Peters Primary School. Opening hours Monday – Thursday 3.15pm to 5.30pm. Friday 12.15pm to 5.30pm. Annual Registration Fee is £5.00. Sessions are hourly and cost £3 with a charge of £1 for lunch on a Friday session. Access to the club is by using the door leading to the wooden steps at the side of the school. The main school door should not be used for access. We currently have 4 staff working at the club who are all suitably qualified and registered with the Scottish Social Services Council.

P OLICIES AND PROCEDURES The club has a set of Policies and Procedures, to ensure we operate within the required local and national guidelines and requirements. They are available electronically on the school website in the dedicated After School Club section (www/st- peters.ik.org) and there is also a paper copy in the After School Club. There is a complaints procedure and this is detailed in our Policies. The Care Inspectorate can also be contacted if there are any concerns. We promote positive behaviour within the club and the children have discussed and agreed the steps to achieve this and these are on display within the club.

A CTIVITIES AND SNACKS We provide a variety of activities every session including outdoor and indoor energetic play, arts and crafts, baking, library corner, home corner with dressing up, choice of board games and access to the TV and games console. The children are always involved and consulted in the planning and choice of activities at the club. We celebrate our children's talents and achievements and share these within the club. We provide a healthy snack for all children and a lunch on a Friday session catering for all dietary requirements. The children plan, choose and evaluate their snacks regularly.

P AYMENTS, BOOKING AND MANAGING SESSIONS We offer different methods of payment. You can choose to pay daily, weekly, monthly or by childcare vouchers through your employer. Please book sessions by texting, phoning or ing the club. The school office will also be able to take enquiries about bookings if you are unable to use any of the above methods. If you require to cancel a session please contact the After School club and give as much notice as possible as there is a waiting list for most sessions. Failure to cancel or turn up at sessions without prior notice, (24 hours if possible) on a regular basis, will incur a £6 charge. This will apply from 3 rd November 2014
