Apuntes gramaticales: Negation

Negation We already know that to make a sentence negative, we put NO in front of the verb. Ej: No hablo por teléfono. In order to say we NEVER do something we place the word NUNCA in front of the verb. Ej: Nunca tomo el autobús.

Double Negatives In Spanish you will sometimes use NO and NUNCA in the same sentence. In this case, NO goes in front of the verb and NUNCA come after. (This applies to NADA as well.) –Ej: No tomo el autobús nunca. Los sábados no hago nada.

The final negative word… is NADIE. It is ALWAYS used with the singular form of the verb (él/ella form). –Ej: No toca la guitarra nadie. Nadie toca la guitarra.
