A Growing Genocide Dolphin Slaughter

One of the most intelligent living animals on earth, Even if we can’t understand them. Who can understand us,

Who's home is in the ocean, and should always be. Saving lives, human lives.

A beauty, That is always smiling, But may not always be happy.

A species, That is suddenly disappearing, And is in serious trouble.

They’re fighting for their lives, Right now

Taiji, Japan The Hunt Begins

Off the coast of Japan, in a small fishing town each and everyday. Dolphins, porpoises, and whales are driven into a small cove, each and everyday. Unaware of their futures

The most attractive out of the hundreds of dolphins are taken away, Later to be sold for over $150,000 to Sea World, and many other marine parks. But while these dolphins are held in captivity,

What happens to the other dolphins, is least expected. brutally The rest of the dolphins are brutally killed.

stabbedtortured These dolphins are stabbed and tortured to death by harpoons and knives as they try to escape the fishermen.

23,000 each year Over 23,000 dolphins are killed this way each year, in this small cove.

As the water turns the crimson color of blood once again, the deceased dolphins are dragged onto boats. These dolphins will be brought to a hidden slaughterhouse, where their meat will be packaged and sold to stores throughout Japan.

Many Japanese citizens, including infants eat this meat, often labeled whale meat, unaware of the danger. poisonous mercury The danger of the high levels of poisonous mercury found inside dolphin meat.

diseases The toxin can cause many diseases such as forms of Autism, Parkinson’s Disease, and dementia. The citizens, though, are unaware of what is happening, to themselves, and in that small cove.

Many of the Marine parks, such as Sea World, support this slaughter. They are willing to pay the $150,000 for dolphins that will later be held in captivity. This is why these dolphins are brought to the cove. Once all of the “special” dolphins have been picked, the others are killed, instead of being released.

Many of the dolphins found in Dolphinarium’s, swim-with-dolphins programs, and marine parks come from dolphin hunts.

Please help stop this slaughter by taking the pledge not buy a ticket to a dolphin show. With your help we can put an end to this Dolphin genocide.

By spreading the word about this slaughter to your friends and family, you are helping to save a dolphins life. For more information please visit and

Also for more information, please watch the documentary, The Cove.
