Scheuermann’s disease is generally caused because people slouch while playing games, watching TV or being on the computer.

This is a normal back the spine has a normal bend in it.

This is an X ray of some one with Scheuermann's disease. Notice the massive curve of the spine.

This guy is just 15!

Having Scheuermann's disease doesn’t just give you a bad look. It hurts severely in the lower and middle back and it also affects your chest. In-between your chest is the sternum and that is where the ribs connect to. Sometimes, they feel like they are pulling away from the sternum and you can’t sleep because it hurts so much. Some people can’t bare the pain so they get a quarter zone injection.

This is Spinal Fusion.

Although Spinal Fusion fixes the curve in your spine, you are left with a massive scar and metal rods inside your body next to your spine and we all know that metal contracts and expands. So during winter, when it is cold, it will hug your spine and it hurts.

This shows how we should be sitting. Most people slouch at a young age and that is why people get Scheuermann's disease, because when they hit puberty and their bones start to grow and take shape, while slouching, it guides your spine to grow in a curve. This is generally when the disease is caught and it is also why it is very common in teenagers. People usually slouch because it is comfortable but they are unaware of what it is actually doing to them.

A lot of people are unaware of the fact that they have this disease. If you suffer pain in your lower to middle back regularly, chances are that you have it

You can find out if you have Scheuermann's disease by going to the radiologist and getting a doctor to see the x rays. They will tell if you have it and they will tell you what you need to do.
