Hispanics are a Key Market Driver for Industry Growth “The number of people listening to radio grew by 1.9 million per week in the past year, according to Arbitron. The vast majority of those new listeners are Hispanics, who represent 1.1 million or 58% of the increase.” INSIDE RADIO – June 15, 2011.

2010 Hispanic Geographic Distribution More than half of the Hispanic population in the U.S. resided in just three states: California (14 Million), Texas (9.5 Million), and Florida (4.2 Million). The South saw a 57% increase in its Hispanic Population, which was 4x the growth of the total population in the South (14%) The Midwest saw a 49% increase in its Hispanic Population, which was more than 12x the growth of the total population in the Midwest (4%). The Hispanic population grew by 34% in the West, which was more than twice the growth of the total population in the West and 33% in the Northeast, or 10x the growth of the total population in the NE.
