One hour in length Basically introduce, show samples, let them try to use the tech tool hands-on Use a wiki to store all the handouts and links to be used Make a Google form as the Evaluation tool for last few minutes of the class Door prizes are always a hit Basic Information

Classes: Glogster: Interactive Posters Google Docs App----solutely Ipads for Beginners App---solutely Ipad Apps for the Curriculum Movie Magic: Photos to Movies using Animoto and Photostory3 Remind101 Online Databases for the Curriculum Poster Printing for Classroom Projects Project Based Learning Smartboard Treasure Hunt Technology Zoo---Gadgets, Games, Gurus Video on Demand: Safari Montage Outlook Calendars

New Ones Added Cell Phone Apps Polleverywhere Pinnacle Tricks and Shortcuts Edmodo.com Avatars Digital Storytelling with ipads or websites Flip Video Movies or iMovie QR Code Scavenger Hunts Customize your list to your teacher needs

Why Work Extra Hours? Build rapport with faculty Get faculty ready for the tech part of Common Core Make faculty more computer literate in small group setting— they come because they want to, not because they are made to get the hours The school pays us extra but not what we are worth (LOL) The district gives PD credit for attendance and uses their signup system for registration--- My Learning Plan Teachers from around the county hear by word-of-mouth and attend and some who aren’t working and need hours to keep certification It is free PD; it is short and to the point; one concept at a time

Caveat Make sure the video clips and websites are not blocked on teacher accounts Sometimes you (the IT folks) have more rights than the regular classroom teacher Nothing can ruin a one hour workshop like not being able to play the intro YouTube video Make sure you have guest logins for those that show up who are not in your district

Our idea came from Tony Vincent! We have a website on the Lakesidesd.org main homepage
