Module 12: Digital “Paintings”

Part 1: The Homage Image (special honor or respect shown publicly) Doisneau image of Picasso Meghan J. Homage of Doisneau

Select a “Master Artwork” that you would like to pay homage to AND... Georgia O’Keeffe Painting Mrs. V Re-creation Then take photograph(s) to manipulate so that the final image would be VERY reminiscent of the original painting.

Use your knowledge and additional experimentation of the filters, color settings and other Photoshop tricks. Try to make your photograph look like the piece you selected. The steps, layers and techniques will be different for everybody! Contemporary Painting by Patricia LeBon-Herb Homage Image by Becky Weber

Homage Image by Olivia Cook

OR stage a photo shoot to get an image that is much like a piece that was originally a photograph… Doisneau image of Picasso Meghan J. Homage to Doisneau

Chema Madoz Jill Murphy Homage to Chema Madoz My inspiration was Chema Madoz's. I wanted to make a replica of her image because I found it unique and interesting to look at. The process of creating my replica image was to fill a glass with water and a spoon. Then I took a picture at an angle where the handle of the spoon, no longer matched up with the bottom of the spoon. Lastly, I went into photoshop and changed it to black and white, along with changing the contrast of the overall image.

Part 2: Pseudo Watercolors Ink and Wash…

…using Layer Blending Modes and Filters

Our subject matter…

Shoes have interesting shapes, colors and textures.

Shoes can be very fancy and neat.

Feet are sometimes cute. (Notice the color theory used in this photo!)

Feet show where we are and where we have been.

Feet are on a different perspective plane, which can be an interesting Angle of View!!

Feet can show things that we do, activities we engage in, things we like.

Feet can tell a story. Or have nice color schemes.

Fancy Footwork!
