MAIN PARTS OF The Apple of Discord Greek Armament Finding Troy Embassy to Priam The War The Trojan Horse After the War

The Greeks fought against Troy Why?? Paris took Helen from King Menelaus of Sparta Result?? King Menelaus ordered Troy to be invaded

Eris, an evil goddess, marked an apple “For the Fairest” Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite fought over who would get it. They were unable to decide so they went to Paris to seek advice. He decided Aphrodite under one condition… … she must get Helen of Troy to fall in love with him. Paris was given Helen. King Menelaus (Spartan King) was angered, he led the Greeks to lay siege* on Troy.

Menelaus and the Greeks fought with the people of Troy for 9 years, not establishing a clear winner! Olympus and the Gods got involved with the war. Without Achilles the Greeks were inferior. Zeus, wanted the Trojans to win, sent a lying dream to Achilles, and Achilles stayed home.

Hera wanted to circumvent Achilles. Menelaus and Paris fought! Whoever won would win the war for their side. Menelaus was declared the winner, however until Athena made someone attack, starting the battle between both sides yet once again. Paris kills Achilles with Apollos help. The Greeks capture Helenus, who tells them that Troy can only be defeated by the bow and arrows of Hercules. Hercules gave Philoctetes the bow and arrows, he sets off for Troy, where he kills Paris. The Greeks suppoesdly retreated, but were hiding in a giant wooden horse that the Trojans brought into the city. The Greeks massacre Troy and kill all men and enslave infants and women……

This is the horse that was brought into Troy, inevitably ending the war.

Homer wrote the Iliad, which is where the story of “The Trojan War” are recorded. People have questioned if Homer was real, and if so if he made up everything about The Trojan War.
