About the Red Scare The Red Scare was when people feared communism would take over. “Reds” was a name they used to call communists. Occurred during the Cold War. People destroying the country were American communists and citizens assisting communists.

Accusations During the Red Scare Many people were suspected of being communists. Investigated the government, educational systems and entertainment industry. Intellectuals were suspected.

McCarthyism McCarthyism was a second Red Scare. Occurred during the 1940 s and 1950 s. Joseph McCarty made an accusation that there were communists in the United States.
