MAX COLLECTS SHELLS. HE SAYS THAT MILLIONS OF ANIMALS HAVE SHELLS. HE WANTS TO FIND A CONCH SHELL.

WE GET TO THE BEACH. MAX GETS UPSET. HE FIND TRASH IN THE SAND. “THIS IS DISGUSTING!” HE SAYS. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT LITTER”. I AGREE.

FIRST WE FIND ROCKS. THEN WE FIND STICKS. AT LAST WE FIND SHELLS.

I TOSS MY SHELL INTO THE SEA. “HEY! A CRAB!” I SAY. “IT HAS TWO CLAWS,” MAX SAYS. “THE BIG ONE IS STRONG. THE SMALL ONE IS WEAKER”.

THERE´S ANOTHER CRAB,” I SAY. “IT LOOKS FUNNY”, THAT´S A HERMIT CRAB”, SAYS MAX. “THEY FIND SHELLS TO LIVE IN. THIS CRAB DOESN´T HAVE A SHELL”.

HERMIT CRABS LIVE IN SNAIL SHELLS”, SAYS MAX. “I HAVE ONLY ONE SNAIL SHELL”. “WELL, YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES”, I SAY. YOU CAN GIVE THE CRAB A HOME OR KEEP THE SHELL.

I WALK AWAY. I LOOK BACK. MAX PUTS THE SHELL ON THE SAND. THE CRAB GOES IN. MAX LOOKS HAPPY. I´M HAPPY, TOO.
