Why is it important to have a variety of living things in the bay? It is important to have a variety of living things in the bay. The Blue Crab help to keep a good source of food in the bay. Zooplankton are important because they are also a good food source. Oysters are important because they are the cleaners of the bay. My research will show how Blue Crab are important to the bay.
The Blue Crab Blue Crab feed on plankton and algae. Rays, Sharks and fish feed on Crabs. Crabs are crustaceans which are marine animals that have eight legs. You can find Blue Crabs in the meadows. There called ‘’Blue Crab’’ because their shells are a light blue shells.
ZOOPLANKTON Zooplankton are called copepods. They range to about 811,000 of an inch. Quite large for a piece of Zooplankton. Shrimp feed on Zooplankton. They are very crucial in the Chesapeake bay’s food chain. They also can be a great food source.
Eastern Oysters Most animals in the bay feed on eastern oysters. They are a delicacy to some marine animals. Some animals such as fish and crabs. I learned that it’s so many variety’s of sea mammals and creatures. I also learned that different animals and how the prey on on their food. That’s what I learned about.
Conclusion In conclusion I learned that all types of marine animals need to stay in packs to survive. Also I learned that blue crab con loose all their arms and still be alive.
