By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. Science Program For the grammar stage (1-4), we use an Usborne series for the student textbook, coupled with a lab manual from Pandia Press, which specializes in classical education, and Gravitas Publications. The school’s approach avoids the “inquiry based” trend in education and uses a balanced approach. In kindergarten, students will learn through teacher- developed and selected materials, using a curriculum designed by the founding families.

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. Science Program For the logic stage (grades 5-8), students will use Prentice Hall Science Explorer, which includes consumables for hands-on investigations.

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. History Program For the grammar stage, we use Susan Wise Bauer’s “Story of the World” series, including the associated activity books and assessments.

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. History Program For the logic stage in grades 5-6, we use Glencoe’s “Journey Across Time”. For grades 7-8, we use Prentice Hall’s “America: History of Our Nation”

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. Music Program Our school will use Musicplay, an award-winning elementary music program.

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. Music Program Choral music is taught along with music theory. Instrumental instruction will begin with fun easy to use instruments beginning in kindergarten. Students will be exposed to the finest composers and music of the time period they are studying in history.

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. Music Program Students will learn note reading and rhythm with Boomwhackers and handbells. Beginning in second grade, the “Complete Recorder Resource” from Musicplay will be taught to introduce children to the recorder. Middle school instruction will feature instrumental lessons on keyboard and guitar.

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. Spanish Program Elementary students will use “Vive El Espanol”, and middle school students will use “Realidades”. The implementation is staggered so that students are taught at the appropriate level for their background.

By Frederick Classical Charter School, Inc. Latin Program For grades 4-6, we will use Pearson’s “Ecce Romani”. For grades 7-8, we will use “Latin for the New Millennium” from Bolchazy-Carducci.
