Goddess of what? Athena is the goddess of Wisdom, the goddess of warfare, strategy, the crafts, and reason. She is a kind and caring goddess, but she has her bad sides.

Her Birth Athena was born in a strange way. She was born out of her father’s head. She was born completely clothed with armor ready for battle.

Why Athens is Called Athens Both Athena And Poseidon both wanted the same city name after themselves. So Zeus decided for them to have a contest. Both were to give a gift to the towns people. Poseidon created a well, it was beautiful but it only squirted out sea water. So it wasn’t that useful. Athena gave the towns people an olive tree, which gave the people olives and olive oil. So Athena won.

Athena the Inventor Athena is a very liked goddess. She has given many gifts to man kind. She invented the bridle, the trumpet, the flute, the pot, the rake, the plow, the yoke, the ship, and the chariot.
