Re-creator of Finger Painting Ruth Faison Shaw: First Lady of Finger Painting educator, art therapist, artist, writer and lecturer experimental school for American and British children ages five to twelve years. The school was first located at the old sixteenth-century Roman villa Prince Leonardo, 1926 used finger painting as a creative tool in the education of her students at the Shaw School in Rome, Italy

Why Finger Paint??? Feels good Therapeutic Personal connection: what is going on inside and what is about to happen outside bypass conscious intention, to just let things happen Love the gooey-gooey feels as the paint oozes through their fingers Motor skills, eye-hand coordination
