 The reason people call cockroaches the ultimate survivor is because cockroaches have lived for 350 million years  Also they can produce 20,000 nymphs in a life time  And they can live for long periods of time on little food  They are also known to survive a nuclear war this is possible along with a number of other insects  I got this information from Newscurrent read to know volume 11

 As a cockroach eats its food it vomits and poops  Many cockroaches are vegetarians but the clean-up crew will eat dead animals as well  There are over four thousand different kinds of cockroaches  As soon as a cockroach mates the female starts laying eggs
