Henry Hudson’s 4 th Voyage In 1610, Hudson was sponsored by Sir Thomas Smythe. Without Sir Thomas, Hudson wouldn’t have got out of jail and wouldn’t have made his last voyage. The Discovery sailed through the Arctic waters north of modern day Quebec, also known as the Hudson Strait, but he didn’t discover the Hudson Strait.
