Since they respected the earth they lived on.  Their lifestyles were highly dependant on the environment around them, and they acclimated to wherever they settled. articleproper noun adjectivepreposition noun verb noun adjective conjunctionpronoun Declarative Run-on

 Native Americans were settled in different regions in America. After crossing the Bering Strait.  The coastal regions, such as California and the Northwest Coast, were moist, had mild weather, and contained many animals.  The Plateau and Great Basin were both located between the Sierra Nevada's and Rockies but the Plateau was slightly different because the Plateau had a higher altitude and the Plateau had a cool wet climate but the Great Basin had a severe climate with extremes of hot and cold.  The Great Plains and the Southwest had vast, treeless plains and little to moderate rainfall. Buffalo, kangaroos, quails, and prairie dogs were just some of the game that could be hunted.  The Southwest and Eastern Woodlands were heavily forested, filled with animal life, and had a plentiful supply of water. prepositionproper noun article adjectivenoun Proper noun nounadjective preposition adverb Declarative fragment Declarative Run-on Declarative

 Native Americans settled all throughout North America and adapted their lifestyles to the weather and environment of the region.  All Native Americans, until many were converted to Christianity, believed that everything in nature contained a spirit, even rocks!  A basic rule in the clans was that the elders received respect and sovereignty above the other tribal members.  Working only for necessities, was important in a Native American’s life, for they believed that life was too short and important to waste. verb noun proper noun adjective noun verb nounpronoun Declarative Exclamatory Declarative

 Every group of people have BAM (“The Basic Activities of Man”); it is how they live. The Native Americans’ BAM was dependant upon the region they settled in.  There are ten “Basic Activities of Man”: trade, transportation, communication, conservation, education, tools, recreation, social government, moral and religious beliefs, and aesthetics.  Native Americans had clothes and goods just enough to sustain themselves for they did not want to waste life and they had many recreational activities and they believed that the elders were the leaders in their “government”. preposition verb proper noun noun verb conjunction Declarative Run-on

 They respected the earth and wanted to live in harmony with nature, so they treated nature and all forms of life with reverence.  The Native Americans’ BAM remained the same until explorers searching for a “New World” came about. verbpreposition Declarative

 Beginning in the late 1400’s, Europeans began an exploration for the “New World”, and what they found was plenty, including Native Americans.  When the Spanish came around in California, they converted the natives to Catholicism and they also made them dig for gold and they spread their culture to the Indians.  The Portuguese built sugar plantations and they tried to enslave Native Americans (but failed). Since running sugar plantations was extremely hard. prepositionnoun proper noun pronoun verb adjectiveconjunction Declarative fragment

 The French were a bit kinder. How so? Well, they traded and made alliances with the natives and were able to live peacefully with them.  The British had made some alliances with the Native Americans, but they also had some battles too and in the end, they almost wiped out the Indian population. proper noun adverb nounconjunction Declarative & Interrogative Declarative
