EUROPEAN GEOSTATIONARY NAVIGATION OVERLAY SYSTEM Challenges of the future

What is EGNOS EGNOS is the European Satellite-Based Augmentation System comparable to WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) and is designed to meet the requirements of Approach procedures with highly accurate Vertical Guidance. It will allow users in Europe and beyond to determine their position to within 3 meters, compared to about 20 meters at present with a conventional GPS systems.
