Aesop's Fables. An Ant and a Grasshopper. 1.One summer's day, a merry Grasshopper was dancing, singing and playing his violin. He saw an Ant. The ant was carrying a heavy crumb. He was making the store for the winter. “Come and sing with me! Don’t work so hard”, said the Grasshopper “Let’s have fun together.” 2.“I must store food for the winter”, said the Ant, “and you must do the same.” “Don’t worry about winter, it’s still very far away”, said the Grasshopper. He was laughing at the Ant. But the Ant didn’t listen and continued his work. When the winter came, the hungry Grasshopper went to the Ant’s house and asked for something to eat. 3.“You didn’t work hard in summer. You were lazy”, said the Ant. “I’m afraid you will have to go to bed without supper,” and he closed the door.
