Canada 2003 at my aunt's TOMÁŠ WORTNER student from grade five

Despite the illness SARS which had appeared in some cases in Toronto, I went to Canada at last. It was my first single trip abroad.

I flew from Prague with landing in Frankfurt. Frankfurt airport was much bigger than Prague one but thanks to English signs I could overcame all the traps of the airport and I got to the right terminal in time. The flight took eight hours so I realized that I would have to rely only on myself in the new world.

My most emotional experience was a trip to Canadian wilderness. We decided with my aunt Pavla to set out on a little boat trip to the near National park.

After a five-hour journey we got to our destination. First it wasn't supposed to be a real wilderness but the weather was very bad. At first we were in doubt about staying there when we were standing with a loaded canoe on the bank of the stormy lake. Finally we decided to set out, no matter how large the waves were, even though it was raining and regardless the occurrence of bears. We covered all our stuff in the canoe with canvas and sat down in the canoe holding paddles in our hands.

After tough paddling for a while I had a look at the bank and with horror in my eyes I found out that we had made hardly one meter. After two hours' paddling we finally reached our place for camping. At once we chose the right place for pitching a tent.

In the evening the weather was a bit better so we made supper. After the supper we went to sleep.

The next morning was sunny and we were welcomed with the restful surface of the lake. We took out our wet stuff to make it dry and set out for a small trip on the lake.

Then we enjoyed the rest of our trip in the nature without any complications and in the end we returned back to Toronto all right.
