Life in Canada is very laid back. Most of us have a lot of time to spend with family and friends as well as time for school and work. Life In Canada
Home Life After school, we usually do our homework right when we get home. Sometimes listening to music while we are doing our work helps us relax. The time we have supper depends on the family. After supper, we like to hang out with friends or watch a movie together in the living room. Sometimes we have activities to do after school so we might be rushed.
Extra-Curricular Where we live, we are very lucky to have so many options for after school activities. There are tons of sports to try and many instruments to learn to play. There are indoor and outdoor sports, team and individual sports, as well as music lessons.
School life At school we have 8 classes a day, each of them are 40 minutes long. Here in Jr. high, we take English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Science and two electives of our choice. I took Futures and Business. In that class we discuss how to sell items that we make and make a profit from them. My other elective is Human Ecology. Half the year we cook and the other half we sew and learn life skills.
Daily life We go to school 5 days a week from 9am to 3:30pm. Once we’re off school, if we have homework, we usually do it. We usually have family dinners at home, but occasionally go out for dinner at places like: The Keg, Olive Garden, Smitty’s & Barney Gargles If we have extra curricular activities, we will go to them in the evenings or whenever.
High school In the high school we are going to next year we get to pick from many electives. Some include hair styling, culinary arts, Spanish, automotive technology & photography, just to name a few. We graduate with a major and possibly even a scholarship. The high school we are going to be attending is one of the biggest high schools in Canada and also has the most options for electives. High School
