The Arabian Peninsula The Arabs lived on the Arabian Peninsula. It is located between the Red Sea and Persian Gulf.

Yemen The southwestern part of the peninsula has well-watered valleys lying between mountains.

The Arabian Desert The rest of the peninsula is made of dry plains and deserts.

An Oasis An oasis is a fertile area around a spring or water hole. An oasis in the desert provides water for farmers, herders, and travelers. Parts of the dry places on the Arabian Peninsula have oases.

A Caravan For hundreds of years, nomadic herders and caravans have crisscrossed the desert. The caravans travel from oasis to oasis.
