 Many different ethnic groups have lived in mainland Southeastern Asia for centuries, where ancient cultures mix with modern Western ways of life.

 Humans have lived in Southeast Asia for tens of thousands of years, many migrated western China & Eastern Tibet  Khmers settled in Cambodia,Vietnam & Thailand  Khmer make up 90% of Cambodia

 Mons move into Thailand & Myanmar (Burma)  Myanmar is mainly inhabited by Burmans  The Mons still live in Myanmar and have integrated into Burmans’ culture

 Thai people of Thailand are descended from people of southwestern China  The Lao people are descended from Thai people who moved into Laos
