Pablo Picasso’s Early Life Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born on October 25,1881 in Malaga, Spain. His father’s name was Jose Blasco his mother’s name was Maria Picasso. His father was a painter and a professor at a school. He learned all the basics of classical art from his father. Pablo Picasso also attended an art school in Madrid, but dropped out in a few months because he didn’t find it too interesting. Picasso’s real work had started in 1894. He saw shapes and a picture whenever he looked at something. In the early 1900’s Pablo started something called “Cubism” which broke down people, objects , and landscapes.

Pablo Picasso’s Adulthood The first painting called “The First Communion” was painted in 1895 which showed his sister Lola. He made his first trip to Paris in 1900 to learn different styles of art. In 1901 he started his own magazine called “Arte Joven” Pablo lived in Barcelona during his “Blue Period” because of the loss of a close friend. 1901 to 1904 was called Picasso’s “Blue” Period because many of his paintings were in the shades of blues and greens. In 1904, he fell in love with Fernande Olivier and was no longer sad. So he started “Rose” period his painting were red, pinks, oranges instead of blues. His most famous painting is called “Portrait of Aunt Pepa.”

Pablo Picasso’s Biography (continued) From 1899 to 1900 was a period where Picasso was creating paintings in a modernist style which emerged due to his influence and exposure to the works of Rossetti, Edward Munch etc. All the painting by Pablo Picasso are usually classified into many “periods”. He was married four times. Pablo Picasso often had a active love life with several mistresses.

Pablo Picasso’s Later Life and Death He still continued the affair with Maria-Therese for a long time and even a daughter also called Maia. Also he had another affair with a young art student. Then he met Jacqueline Roque and was with her till his death so she divorced her ex-husband and married Picasso for her children to keep their rights. April 8,1973 they were entertaining some friends and having them over for dinner and Pablo Picasso died and he last words were “Drink to me, drink to my health, you know I cant drink no more.”
