SuperValu Update

Basic Department Albertsons, Acme, & Cub have now rolled in to the Corporate Promotional Program –Cub will begin following the corporate ads and promotions beginning the 1 st of September Shoppers & Farm Fresh are the next banners to be rolled in and should be announced within the next two months; until then promotions, ads, displays are set up at Shoppers & Farm Fresh by the local broker Shaws, Jewel, and Shop N Save will not “roll in” until SuperValu’s next fiscal year which will start in March, 2009 –This means that these banners are “business as usual” with all promotions, ads, displays set up at the banner level by the local broker calling on the banner. Banners not on the corporate plan do have the ability to charge for these activities at their current rates

Basic Department All banners have been set to the new planograms –Albertsons and Acme follow the corporate plan –All other banners were allowed to “tweak” the corporate planogram by up to 15% of item selections to fit their local needs No new item cut-ins will be done until the 1 st quarter of 2009 unless a Tier 1 product launch takes place (ie. M&M Premium) As new banners roll in to the corporate fold, corporate will take more control of the planogram mix

Seasonal - Banner Item selections and planograms, for all seasons, are made at corporate for Albertsons & Acme A letter is going out, soon, to all banners dictating that they will need to follow the selections made by Corporate beginning with Valentine, 2009 –Currently many banners are not even setting seasonal sections and are not following the selections coming from corporate For Christmas, 2008, the Hershey Navigator Model will write the seasonal orders for Albertsons, Acme, and Jewel For Valentine, 2009, Cub will be added to the above list for Navigator orders For Easter, 2009, Shoppers, Farm Fresh, & Hornbachers will be added for Navigator orders For Halloween, 2009, Shaws and Shop N Save will have orders written by Navigator

Seasonal - Independent The Regions use the corporate selections as the “core” selections for the seasonal items offered to the independents Regions can offer more items than the core items if they choose to do so Regions tend to use more displays than corporate Local brokers need to contact all independent retailers to sell the offerings in the Region Seasonal Plan. We will provide each Region’s offerings for all seasons
