Presentation transcript:

BIOGRAPHY By: Willow Francis-Savoie  53 year old Canadian Astronaut  Born in Milton, Ontario on August 29,1959  He was 3 years old the first time he flew in his dad’s plane

BIOGRAPHY By Kiona Paul-Dedam He wanted to become an astronaut since he was 9 years old when he watched Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walk on the moon on T.V. He plays the guitar and sang a song he wrote “Jewel in the Night” on the International Space Station

ACHIEVEMENTS By Coby Vienneau  He was the 1 st Canadian to walk in space.  He will become the 1 st Canadian to command the ISS in March 2013

ACHIEVEMENTS By: Benjamin Cole Somerville  A Former Royal Canadian Air Force Fighter Pilot  Received a lot of awards and Special Honors, especially in his hometown

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION By Tommy Robichaud  It’s the biggest laboratory in space  16 countries are working together to build the I.S.S  It’s the size of 5 hockey rinks put together one section at a time.

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION Levi Doiron  The first piece was brought up in 1998  The robotic Canadarm helps to attach these sections together People started living on the I.S.S in It can be seen at dawn or dusk with the naked eye when the sun reflects on it. 

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION  On Dec Chris Hadfield launched on the Russian Soyuz for a 6 month stay on the I.S.S.  This is his 3rd mission in space By: Quentin Doiron

SPACE LIFE By: Paige Comeau  EXERCISE: 2 hours everyday to stay strong because at 0 gravity their muscles don’t get used much.  SLEEP: in sleeping bags strapped to the walls of the I.S.S. there is no gravity so their heads stay up. They don’t need to sleep much because they don’t use a lot of energy in space  Sleeping exercise

SPACE LIFE By:Brianna MacEachern  Food/drink is packaged in vacuum sealed plastic bags with straws.  No crumbs because they will float around  Spicy foods for flavor because with no gravity the astronauts sinuses plug and tongues swell and they can’t taste much.

EXPLORATION JUST TO NAME A FEW  What are some experiments astronauts study on the I.S.S?  Animal, Plant and Human Biology  Meteorology  Astronomy
