CCG Assurance Framework Scorecard 2014/15 – Month 1 Sandra Iskander

Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group CCG Performance Key Messages Full quarter 1 information is not yet available, and therefore it is too early to get a clear indication of how the CCG is performing this year. A more comprehensive update will be available in the next Board report. A&E waits St George’s have just missed the 95% target in Quarter 1. The Trust have struggled with high numbers of attendances, particularly in the evening, and bed capacity remains an issue. The CCG has issued a Contract Query Notice to the Trust and a plan has been agreed to improve performance. This will be monitored by a subgroup of the new System Resilience Group (formerly the urgent care working group). It should be noted that WCCG are achieving the target overall, when the performance of other providers is taken into account. 18 weeks Although the CCG is reporting achievement of this target, the data masks a large backlog of patients waiting over 16 weeks who have not yet received dates for treatment. Reducing the backlog of patients is a focus nationally, and monies have been made available to support Trusts to reduce their backlogs over the summer. As with A&E, the CCG has issued the Trust with a Contract Query Notice. As part of this process, we are reviewing the Trust’s demand and capacity model, and will be closely monitoring their improvement plan. 2

Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group CCG Performance Key Messages 3 Cancer wait times Wandsworth is not achieving the 62 day cancer wait times as it has had 8 breaches out of 48 patients, spread over different providers, although the majority are at St George’s. The cancer commissioning team are working closely with the Trust to review pathways and ensure that admin processes are streamlined and robust. MRSA This is a zero tolerance target, and SGH are reporting one infection this year. The Root Cause Analysis is currently in development which will identify actions. This is closely monitored by the Infection Control team at the CSU and reported to the Clinical Quality Review Group. Mental Health Performance information related to Q1 will become available in the next few weeks.
