Motivational Interviewing The MI trainings were conducted in phases. The series of MI trainings incorporated a training plan, coaching and ongoing training services necessary for practitioners to successfully incorporate MI into their routine mode of practice. Each training session consisted of two days of training, three monthly taped sessions’ reviews and expert coaching feedback provided via a web-based coaching application and a one day follow up training or booster sessions to assess progress and provide advanced MI training. Motivational Interviewing In addition to the final MI sessions, DSHS worked with the Gulf Coast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (Gulf Coast ATTC) in offering Motivational Interviewing Assessment: Supervisory Tools for Enhancing Proficiency (MIA STEP) to DSHS providers.
