Montana was part of the Louisiana Purchase in Battle of the little big thorn, known as custer’s last stand in which cheyenne and sioux defeated custer and more than 200 of his men in southeast Montana. Butte is the center of the region that once supplied half of U.S copper. History of Montana

MONTANA Yellowstone National Park in southern Montana and northern Wyoming was the first national park in the nation. No state has as many different species of mammals as Montana.
